TO WHICH OF 470 SITES DO I GO?
CAN I KEEP THIS SURF GOING?

Elfane, a cyberworld run by Kristy Dosser, from Melbourne, Australia (that trip back to the U.S.A. was really short-lived!) Elfane contains 6 full poetry pages and a link to Kristy's other (non-poetry) world, Soap Bubbles. She has some photos of herself from a recent trip to the U.S., links to Anne Rice, an Astrology link and says that if we want to read poems by other people, we have to see her web rings: The Poetry Webring, The Poetry Ring, Poetry Sidewalk, and Poetry Haven. (could this be Poetry Hell?) Randomly picking the first mentioned, which has 3,064 homepages listed.

One of 3,064 pages? OK, but JUST ONE!

Wizardess Lyn's Poetry Page. Lyn Gouge supplies us with over 20 pages of beautifully decorated poems. She does not offer from whence she comes ("where she comes from" is ungrammatical). There is some good Midi music playing (she opens to "Witchy Woman") at all times. Lynn has some really good music and graphics links as well as poetry. UPDATE: Lyn is from North Carolina!

Not a poet myself, I thought a Haiku would be appropriate here:

There are so many
Cyberspace Poetry Sites.
This ain't one of them.

As the only ring Lynn is on is the one I leaped in on (what-the-hey, forget grammar), I turned to her guestbook and found:

Bob's Chunk o'Net, where Bob Sellers celebrates his recent marriage to his "soul's completer", Kansas. Bob, age 22, is just finishing up at the University of Alabama. This very attractive couple lives in Gordo, Alabama and Bob supplies us with all kinds of University of Alabama sports links and includes some pictures he took at George Wallace's funeral earlier this year. Bob gives us an interesting tribute to the South, of which he is very proud. Beautiful confederate graphics here, mixed with Halloween stuff (hey, it's the season!).

I would insert a MIDI of "Dixie" here, but I'm really don't want this page to take longer to load than needed.

Ridiculous! This site, also known as "Brainfarts", is hosted by Tim Johnston (he has several sites). When first entering the site, we are asked to forgive him if we came through because of a nasty entry in a guest book (I did). This particular page reveals his love for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and beer and his disdain for cats and President Clinton. He includes a poll on whether or not he should get a life (he should), with links on other sites he masters. He belongs to two web rings: the Grumpy Ring (5 members) and the EMJag Webring (20 members). A random click on the former takes me to:

Small Town Trap: An EVE6 web page. This is a fan's website for two rock bands: EVE6 is a 2-person rock band (Max Collins and Tony) who are both 19 years old. They are currently on tour. They have their own 45-member Web Ring. The site also has information about Third Eye Blind, which is currently touring with EVE6 on the Campus Invasion leg of their Bonfire Tour for MTV. Both groups currently have videos. The webmaster here is Heather Johnston (sister to the above? if so, short leap!). There are lyrics to the songs from both bands as well as interviews. Keeping on the EVE6 topic, a random click on their ring takes me to:

Danielle. Danielle Shrager's EvE6 interest is matched with her own page for Harvey Danger. Whe details experiences in seeing the latter in concert (somewhere in California; she doesn't say which town), obviously a very large thrill for her, along with pictures of the band and tips on ordering their CDs and T-Shirts. She also has links to MTV and VH-1. I could not find the link from the EVE6 Web Ring, so her guestbook took me to:

Rebecca's X-tra Neato, Super-dee-duper Spiffe Site. Rebecca Ferrell's site is a bit difficult to read (blue denim background with blue lettering), but she is fairly new at Web Pages, so she'll learn better design. Rebecca is in 7th Grade at Woodward Middle School in Bainbridge Island, Washington. Born November 15, 1985, so is about to turn 13. She, like the previous "Leapees", is a fan of EVE6 and has 5 links to them, as well as links to Harvey Danger and several Radio stations, favorite TV shows, as well as some of her friends.

If the World Wide Web had existed when you were 13 years old, who would YOUR Fan Page have been about? E-Mail me and we can compare!

Fdt98, who lives in Niagara Falls, New York. Frank (his actual name) recently had to re-do his pages (they got lost). His pages are on the subjects of Professional Wrestling and South Park, with some Wav files to download from the latter. His last update was early in October and he has (until now) only had about 200 visitors. He also links to Brass Eagle Paintball Products. A link from his guestbook took me to

TNTPaintball, run by Karen, "for all your paintball needs in Cape Cod." This site is devoted to (guess what?) -- yes, paintball. There are pictures of a team, Fallout, most of whom are now in college (according to the entry written in Frank's guest book. Links are to a few other paintball sites as well and the "Anything Paintball" Web Ring, which consists of 10 sites. Karen is the mother of one of these Paintballers. She is also on the America Online Web Ring, so I am now taking the plunge to a TRULY RANDOM LEAP into one of the 4,000 sites that is claimed to be a part of this ring:

WHERE ARE WE GOING NOW?
COULD BE ANYWHERE...

If you're still with me, we have a choice right now:
Go back 1, go back 2, or go home.

But if you've come this far, you might as well CONTINUE
