LEAP EIGHT

Peppermint Patty signed my guestbook recently. She is from Beaumont, Texas, and offers a few Jokes and Stories, some of them inspirational, others wry in their honesty (especially those with a "Battle of the Sexes" Theme). When I first did this surf, she did not belong to any webrings (she does now), so I looked to her guestbook for a way to another site. At the time, the most recent signee was:

Dee's Angels. This is the website of Dee Bowman (and her husband Ben). Dee has done some clever things with photo enhancement and displays some of her handiwork, along with some mythical characters she has adopted. The real attention-grabber for me was a special tribute to her daughter, Tammy Merie, who died in 1990 at the age of 11. Dee herself is a relative newcomer to the Web; her page was published on March 2, 1999. Of the 271 Members of the Tears in Heaven Webring, we were sent to:

In Loving Memory, a very special place set up by Delynn Jones. Delynn shares the loss of her infant son, Nathaniel and has information for grieving mothers. We also meet her 2 sons and her husband Eric who is in the military. They currently live in the States, I believe, and lived in Japan for awhile. From the Love Never Dies WebRing, which has 110 members, we were blessed to meet:

Mahea. Kim and James Doyle had a rough year. Their five-month-old son had open heart surgery (successful) and her father, James, a Viet Nam Vet, died on January 22, 1999. This is a very wonderful, loving family site and it is hard to come away without being moved. The Doyles are a military family and currently live in Fort Campbell, Kentucky after having been stationed in many areas. Kim is one of a dozen sites in the Honoring Dad WebRing. Another is:

Annie's World. Through the WebRing, I leaped into Annie's "Daddy's Page" in special honor of her dad, Ernest Fritz, who died in 1989 with a beautiful tribute. Annie is a retail manager who lives in Virginia near the Tennessee/West Virginia Border. Her son, Matt, graduated High School last year and her mother, Madeline, passed on June 28, 1998. Of course, Annie has a loving tribute page for her as well. So, from the Remembering Mom WebRing (50 Members), the Leap took me to:

Brenda, who lives in Troy, Alabama, shares so much of herself here . . . this is truly one of the most outstanding sites on the Web. Not only does she give every possible sort of information for caregivers of Alzheimer's patients, but includes extensive HTML help and Graphics links as well, so if the reader has not put together a Web Site, Brenda can point you to all you need to know. To go on about this site would be to take away it. All I can say is,

GO THERE!

From the Caregiver's Ring, I leaped to Carole's World. Carole Hare lives in New Jersey with her husband Jack (married 40 years) and her mother. Her father died a year ago. On ICQ, Carole runs a chat room for Caregivers of Alzheimer's patients (the schedule and ICQ info is included). In addition, Carole shares with us the results of her genealogy research. From the very large Heartland Select Ring, out of 1200-some sites, the Random Leap leads us to:

SlickVick. Vicki is a Registered Nurse whose main interests are her family (quite extended), computers, gardening and dogs. She lives very happily in the country somewhere near Kansas City, Missouri. Her site has extensive links appropriate to all her interests, including a link to the Rainbow Bridge (always one of my favorites). Being a nurse, she has all sorts of wonderful nutrition and other Health info. Heading out of here on the Geocities Ring, I was pleased to go to:

The Duneman Family Album, which is headed by Steve, his wife Linda and their teenage children Nate and Dawn. This Christian Family lives in St. Cloud, Minnesota and shares with the reader some good-quality pictures of the extended family (parents, brother from Colorado) and relevant Bible verses. We move out through the rather huge (almost 1500 sites) Heartland Ring to:
