LEAP FIVE

Sometimes You Think You Know Where You're Going...

Mickey Moran's Elvis Pages. I read a great number of postings on message boards that Mickey made around the anniversary of Elvis Presley's birth. Mickey believes The King to be alive, and I thought this would be a good starting point. Mickey is 28 years old, lives in Louisville, Kentucky, and has been fascinated with Elvis ever since Elvis' "alleged" death. Whether you agree with the Elvis Theories or not, Mickey presents a strong and convincing case, which makes very good reading. In frames, and easy to get around in. A special feature is the "Elvis Forum", in which many things are discussed and we, the reader/viewer, can participate. Mickey is a member of the 149-site T.C.B. Ring, which leaped me into:

Elvis's Cadillacs. It turns out Elvis owned over 100 Cadillacs in his time. Alan, your guide and webmaster, lives in Sydney, Australia, and the Elvis Page is only one part of a large site, the centerpiece being Alan's own pink (formerly gold) 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville ("Cool 59"), which has been re-outfitted for driving on the left-hand side of the road (all whys and wherefores are included). Alan has numerous pictures of the car and links to all kinds of Cadillac and 1950's things, with appropriate music being played throughout. You do not have to be into cars (or Australian) to get a lot out of this site! Alan belongs to 3 other Rings, and from out of the 144 sites on the Classic Cars Webring, I hit:

Crusah's Mustang Page. Crusah, also known as Chris, lives in Ontario, Canada and is totally into Mustangs (the car) and has a lot of pictures of just about every year and model there has ever been of this great car. Crusah is on about a dozen Mustang and automotive webrings, and has his own webring called "Crusah's Cars", with 23 sites. I leaped into:

T3's Garage. T3 is a relative newcomer to the WWW. Most of the site consists of photos of cars categorized as "Exotic Cars", "Sport Tuned", "Sport Trucks", "Top 10 Cars", and "The Best Car", which for December is the Jaguar XJR-15, with a lot of stats. His own webring, the Super Exotic Cars ring, with 14 sites, took me to

Brian's 92 SE-R. This is a page mostly of stats and photos of Brian's 1992 Sentra SE-R. Brian shares a picture of himself and a friend at a car show in Chantilly, Virginia (he lives in Maryland, where he is an aspiring model and actor). Brian is on three Web Rings, the first of which is The SR20DE WebRing, for Nissan enthusiasts. This ring has 61 sites listed, and I leaped into:

Nibbana Performance: 200SX SE-R. This simple site is owned by Charles and Jennifer Nibbana, possibly of the Maryland area. It was put up in December 1997 and slightly updated a month later. They seem to be in the midst of restoring a 1996 200SX using parts from another. There is a photo of one of their cars at the Maryland International Raceway in 1996, a link to the manufacturers, and the SR20DE Web Ring, which took me to:

SR20DE Power Vehicles Ahead! The Webmaster here, Rodney Leong, got a few SR20DE owners together who had been e-mailing each other, and they formed SF-BAM (San Francisco-Bay Area Meets). There are plenty of pictures of these meetings, and a bit about Rodney. He is currently on leave from Golden Gate University Law School and was helping out Matt Fong for Senate. Still with the SR20DE Webring, I leaped over to:

Mike Mager's 200SX SE-R Page!. Mike dedicates his page to his 1996 (above). He has much SE-Rious info, performance results, links, etc. Very detailed. FINALLY, an ability to get on another WebRing: The Nissan WebRing, so presumably we're good for 174 entries. However, I got sent to:

Datsum Roadster Links. This site, run by Adam Bradley, is a page of Links based around Datsun Roadster Links, including a few that are listed as being for sale. The site was last updated on June 1, 1998. Most of the links are commercial sites, so I went back to the Nissan WebRing:

This page was to advertise the event in this banner, which took place in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Schedules for the event and local info and links abound. Here is an example of the importance of keeping your websites up-to-date. FREE STUFF ALERT!! This site has enough to keep it interesting: you can get a free trial issue of Z Car Magazine. Back to the WebRing:

Nitrox's Nissan Silvia Page. This is the site of Nitrox's Kewl-Mobile, the 240SX. Unlike many of the previous "Leapee's" on this page thus far, Nitrox shares his life outside of the garage on this site. The name itself is from Nitrogen and Oxygen, which he explains fully. Nitrox is into Chat (AOL, ICQ and ChatPlanet), Christianity and Scuba Diving as well as his car, and links to his "sidekick's" (dog's) page. Nitrox explains why he even HAS a car, living in Singapore where a car depreciates 10% each year. Finding no other WebRing, I went into Nitrox's Kewl Guest Book, which had been most recently signed by:

Jennie Mah, 21, in Vancouver, BC, Canada. This is officially Jen's "Bimmer" Page (as in BMW), but it is only part of a larger site. She tells how she likes BMWs and has a lot of info and picture galleries about them, as well as some screen savers. She is a recent graduate of Douglas College, and does NOT actually own a Bimmer, but she will some day. She is also interested in martial arts, drawing, computers, poetry and Jet Li, most recently seen in LETHAL WEAPON 4. She has web pages devoted to the latter two, and while she is on the BMW WebRing, she is also on one for Jet Li, which has 27 members. This took me to a whole different area:
